BMC Classic Desert Storm Plastic Army Men - 48pc Gulf War Soldier Figures USA
From the CLASSIC ARMY MEN COLLECTOR SERIES, BMC Toys revives the 1990s revivals of classic figures from 2 of the great American toy companies. This set of 24 Tan U.S. Soldiers and 24 Brown Iraqi Plastic Army men is proudly manufactured in the United States and features 12 different US and 6 different Iraqi troops. Figures are approximately 1:32 scale and stand up to 2.25 inches tall. Made from slightly flexible LDPE plastic with medium details and almost no flashing.
The U.S. soldiers were originally produced in shades of Army Green by Processed Plastic (Tim Mee Toy's parent company) around 1968, and were probably the first to depict U.S. infantry troops of the Cold War era with contemporary equipment. They were offered in Tan color after the 1st Gulf War to better represent the desert camouflage uniforms of the conflict.
The Iraqi soldiers were originally introduced in the 1960s by Louis Marx & Company as Soviet Allies in many of their famous WW2 Battleground Playsets. The troops were redeployed as USSR equipped Iraqi forces in Desert Storm playsets offered by the Marx Toys company revival of the mid-1990s. They were later produced in hard plastic for the hobby market through much of the 2000's.
This is a set of real American Made plastic toys, meant to be set up, knocked down, picked up and played with for many years to come. LITTLE GREEN ARMY MEN have even been inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame. Packed in plastic bag with insert card and recommended for ages 5 and up.
