BMC Toys Production Roundup: September 2022
Posted by Jeff Imel on
The imported BMC Toys 'American Hero' shipment has arrived and includes the new WW2 Flag set, Alamo color variant, and Juno Beach restock with new English/French header card art for our Canadian friends:
The 'American Hero' product line should be well-stocked into early next year, and I'm working on next production order to arrive around February 2023. New molds have been ordered for the BMC Yorktown Hessians and I'm considering a Yorktown Boxed Playset revival. The new Hessian mold will include 8 figures with duplicate kneeling and standing firing poses:
Production at the new factory in Old Forge, Pennsylvania is ramping up with lots of BMC Toys Classic and Tim Mee Toy items in progress to arrive in October and November. The BMC Toys Classic MPC Germans restocks arrived in August. This mold is wearing out and it's uncertain if it can be repaired. There may be more flashing and the figure assortment less consistent than previous production runs, but there should still be at least 2 of each pose per bag. I've edited the product photos to better reflect the current contents:
Production of the BMC Toys Classic Louis Marx & Co. Palm Tree, Barbed Wire, Pack Horses, and Western Gold Mine 'parts packs' are in progress after being put on the back-burner for the past couple of years. The parts packs will have plain 3 inch square labels instead of insert cards:
I've added some new color variants to upcoming production including black and silver-gray MPC Machine Guns, brown Louis Marx & Co. Army Base, and Mars Base Camp rebranded as 'Mad Scientist Lab' with bronze equipment and liberty green furniture:
The Tim Mee Toy M16 soldiers are back in production and the 48pc packs of OD Green and Tan vs. OD are now in stock. The factory is currently working on a big batch of the 100pc Tan vs. OD packs which will then be followed by the other colors. The OD Green Patton Tanks just started production and Battle Mountain production will hopefully start next week. I'm very uncertain if the Hercules AC-130 will be back in production in time for the holidays. The WW2 planes and Cowboys and Indians are the next priorities, followed by the bucket set:
Happy Labor Day,
Jeff at Tim Mee Toy & BMC Toys
