News — Potential Projects

It's been a while since I've posted a blog update, but the schedule has been so jam packed with production and stuff in progress I've barely had time to come up for air. Hold on to your  helmets... Let's start with the main BMC Toys product line, the 'American Hero Collector Series' that includes the D-Day and Iwo Jima Playsets. The fall shipment arrived over a month late due to port congestion, but the products were as popular as ever, and several popular items have, or will soon run out of stock. New restock production is in progress and scheduled...

We've made some good progress on the BMC Toys 1:32 scale WW2 German Bunker Building. The digital model is almost complete and should be ready for 3D printing a prototype soon. Here's the latest digital mockup of the project:I've made some changes and additions based upon customer feedback of the original concept art. The center of each roof half now has a removable insert. These will be a light friction fit and can be removed so troops have access to the roof with ladders. There will be 2 ladders that can be used from inside the building through the center...

I was recently asked a question that comes up every so often, "Do you stock any female toy soldiers?" Marx and Tim Mee offered Army Nurse figures decades ago, but I'm not aware of anything currently available, so I let the customer know we don't have anything like that in stock. Usually, that's the end of it, but this time the customer (a retired Navy Sailor) made a compelling case for why Plastic Army Women might be popular. I promised to conduct some research, and discovered there might be enough folks looking for Little Green Army Women to consider producing...
