BMC Toys Production Roundup: Thanksgiving 2022
Posted by Jeff Imel on
The BMC Toys American Hero imported product line should be well stocked through most of the holiday shopping season. There is a possibility some D-Day boxed sets could run out in December or January before the next shipment arrives around February 2023. There's several projects in progress for the imported line in 2023 that I'll announce when details are further along. The Pennsylvania factory that manufactures the BMC Toys Classic product line (and now Tim Mee Toy) has been very busy over the past couple of months after moving to a larger building. Lots of popular items are back in...
BMC Toys Production Roundup: September 2022

The imported BMC Toys 'American Hero' shipment has arrived and includes the new WW2 Flag set, Alamo color variant, and Juno Beach restock with new English/French header card art for our Canadian friends: The 'American Hero' product line should be well-stocked into early next year, and I'm working on next production order to arrive around February 2023. New molds have been ordered for the BMC Yorktown Hessians and I'm considering a Yorktown Boxed Playset revival. The new Hessian mold will include 8 figures with duplicate kneeling and standing firing poses: Production at the new factory in Old Forge, Pennsylvania is...

Mail Call - June 2022 Q&A
Posted by Jeff Imel on
We get lots of questions every month, so I thought a compilation of questions and answers might be good way to share some information and updates: Q: Hi, I'm sure you guys get tons of emails about this, but what happened to the Boley M60 tank and will it ever come back? I saw you made a newsletter for it, but I saw it's pretty old now.A: The original molds for the Boley M60 tank are not available. Making a new M60 tank toy is still a project I'd like to do, but can't provide a timeline yet. Folks can...

BMC Toys: The Border Wars
Posted by Jeff Imel on
BMC Toys founder Bill McMaster had planned on releasing the Buffalo Soldiers and 71st New York Infantry figures from the San Juan Hill playset in separate packs of powder blue figures around 2013. The project was dropped when he learned that the molds were lost in deep storage. Thankfully, the molds have been located and repaired, so I thought I'd complete those projects, with the exception of maybe making the Buffalo Soldiers dark blue. While doing some research another possibility presented itself, a 'Border War' set. I believe the Buffalo soldiers, NY Infantry, George Berry and General Pershing (character figures)...
BMC Toys: The German Bunker of San Juan Hill
Posted by Jeff Imel on
Work continues on restoring the recently located BMC San Juan Hill molds, but in the meantime, I'm considering offering the Inner Hacienda walls as a separate accessory this fall. The walls have been used by custom playset builders for a wide range of places and eras: This got me thinking about how the walls might look with different roofs, and if a new roof mold might be feasible. The simplest design is a flat roof that transforms the hacienda to a bunker or commercial building. This flat roof is made of 2 identical pieces: Each half could be removed independently...
